Here is an archived post for part three of my Instagram project. In this installment, i decided to take a few more people shots rather than bombard you with more sunsets and old buildings. This is something that i aim to keep up just to keep things a bit more interesting. Most of my favourite Instagrams by other photographers are of random people just going about their everyday business. A very talented Instagrammer who is great at doing this is @takinyerphoto. If you are a member on Instagram, add him to your feed for some great shots and inspiration. This guy has 91045 members following him, that’s a pretty solid fan base for a photo feed website. If you are an Instagrammer and want to add me, my username is @calvinsteward.

Parts one to three are all from 2011, you can expect new galleries on vftwo in the forthcoming months. Keep an eye out on the featured section for new instagrams and let me know what you think by dropping a comment below. Instagram is an iPhone App available for free on the iTunes store, click here to download the App.

Download the Incinerate to Destroy album for free by clicking the links below. Incinerate to Destroy is the debut album by Om Nom Bomb, recorded by the band in 2011. Here’s a nice little review by ghostrider764 on iTunes:

“It’s impossible not to bow down to ‘Incinerate to Destroy’, the debut album from UK duo Om Nom Bomb. From the visceral splurge of ‘Tranquiliser’ to the grooves of ‘Chemical’, each riff is hammered into submission until it stretches out for miles and miles. As long as they keep on being this magnificent, the Bomb can be as experimental as they ruddy well please.“

Here is an archived post for part two of my Instagram project. As i mentioned in Part one, i struggled to get fifty interesting shots within a months time frame. To get around this little problem, i raided my photography archive and uploaded a few old photographs taken with my Nikon D90 via iPhoto to my iPhone. I then picked out a few “fillers” and ran them through the Earlybird filter and added them to my feed. I must say that some of the original shots were greatly improved with a bit of forced cropping and a nice vintage effect filter!

Zombies is the first track to be released from the 2011 album “Incinerate to Destroy” by Guitar Rock Duo Om Nom Bomb (Chris Moore & Calvin Steward). The track was inspired by the drunken antics of the UK club & bar scene, were the part of the “Zombies” is played by late night revellers who can’t handle a few beers, and lose control of all of their basic functions.

The Video takes a more literal approach with Chris & Calv playing the part of actual Zombies, just for shits & giggles. As fans of the Zombie Genre, I have to say that it was a blast to film this one! Primary locations were Om Nom Bomb Sound Lab 1, and Kesgrave Woods. The latter being the most troublesome as it’s a popular Dog walking environment. Wandering around in fake blood, stumbling around like Zombies turned a few heads to say the least.

The footage was shot on two cameras, the Trusty Kodak Easysport HD mini cam made a welcome comeback for the woodland shoot. The main bulk of the video was shot in the Om Nom Bomb Sound Lab 1 using a broadcast quality Panasonic HD digital camera. Hence the slight jump in quality when compared to the video for Tranquiliser. The video features appearances by two of our favourite Bomber’s, Paul Harvey & Emma Hutton. The blood splattered shirts that myself & Chris wore throughout the shoot were made by Jadie Moore- Thanks loads!

“Zombies” is available on the Om Nom Bomb album “Incinerate to Destroy”, a 12 track debut journey into guitar laden musical alchemy. Check it out on iTunes by clicking here.

Tired but Wired is the closing track from the Album “Incinerate to Destroy”, by Om Nom Bomb (Chris Moore & Calvin Steward). This track takes the Bombers in an experimental direction, with the bulk of the music being composed on digital synths, with trademark guitars accompanying a dirty live bass riff. The track has been likened to a soundtrack or movie score, with it’s crashing pace and synth build ups thundering along until the key change kicks in.

Tired but Wired was created using a mix of Garageband and Propellerhead Reason 4, both on a Mac computer. The synth riffs and guitar notes were all beefed up using various degrees of gain and delay to give it a more Prodigy-esque feel.

There is no current video for Tired but Wired, there may be one at some point in the future, along with a remix perhaps, but who knows for now.

The title of the track was inspired by a social networking status update by Hazel Pratt. Let us know what you think by dropping us a comment below. No sign up required, just bang in an email address and you can post.

This video marks the first outing of Guitar Rock duo Om Nom Bomb (Chris Moore & Calvin Steward). Tranquiliser is the first release from the 2011 EP “Quick & to the Pointless”- a musical project that evolved over a period of about one month during lunch breaks and weekends. The EP was recorded on a Digital multi track studio with Chris & Calvin playing all instruments, programming drums and mastering the final tracks.

The video, like the album was shot in a short period of time in Om Nom Bomb Sound Lab 1 in the depths of sunny Kesgrave in Ipswich. All of the footage was filmed in one day on a Kodak Easysport HD mini camera, and a Nikon D90 SLR using the Movie mode and a 18-55 kit lens. All editing and post-production was completed in iMovie and Photoshop on an iMac.

The Tranquiliser video reflects Om Nom Bomb’s low-tech approach to making music, record lots of stuff, keep it fast & simple- but most of all assault the senses! There are a few great outtakes from this shoot, one of which made the cut in the form of an intro for this video. We are keeping all of the source files and plan to do a little compilation of outtakes & skits as, and when we shoot new stuff.

If you want to check out more Om Nom Bomb music, videos & updates- have a look around this website, or visit our Facebook page here:

As a big Fan of Doctor Who (old, as well as new), I was very grateful to receive the artwork above as a gift for some website work that i did a while back for my friend Suzy’s Dad. Not only was it signed by one of my all time favourite TV icons- Tom Baker, the lovely Louise Jameson also scribbled her monicker on there for me! The artwork is from the 1977 Doctor Who serial “The Talons of Weng Chiang”, an absolute classic from the Tom Baker era. The DVD is worth checking out if you are a fan, there are plenty of extras and the story is one that sticks out as “one of the greats” in my opinion.

This pic is now hanging pride of place in my new flat, I’ve yet to unpack everything else! I’m not a big fan of memorabilia, but as unexpected gifts go- this one went down very well!

Here is an archived post for part one of my Instagram project, I started using Instagram early in 2011 and have become a little addicted to the vintage photo filters that are available on the App. When i first started the project, my aim was to take 50 photographs every month and upload a gallery for each one. This kind of took the fun out of it after a couple of months as i started to shoot anything just for the sake of getting them uploaded. So now i just take a pic of anything that grabs my interest and make a gallery whenever i reach a new batch of around fifty photographs.

Parts one to three are all from 2011, you can expect new galleries on vftwo in the forthcoming months. Keep an eye out on the featured section for new instagrams and let me know what you think by dropping a comment below. Instagram is an iPhone App available for free on the iTunes store, click here to download the App.
